Hi,

Anybody know how much space I need on my c drive to import 1 million hands and roughly how long it takes?

Thanks,

Chynn

We usually calculate with 10 GB HDD space for 1 Million hands.
The import time is difficult to estimate. I would say about 50 hands/sec.

General rule is 1 million hands = 10 GB.

In reality it's: 1 million hands
HM1: 6.8 GB
HM2: 4.3 GB
PT4: 13.6 GB

I also have i7 cpu + SSD and my import time is roughly 300h/s (9max FR) obviously quicker if you play 6max.

At the moment it is importing at about 21hands/s with an estimated time of about 18 hours, this seems quite long. I bought an external hard drive so would I better transferring my database to the external hard drive? If so, how do I go about doing it?

In general i think an external HDD is not much faster than an internal one.
But if you want to move your postgresql data folder you can try this: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition

Okey, I can play while it is importing? Or can I stop it to play?

When you want to play a session (start the auto import).
And stop the "import from folder" you were running.

When you want to import 1 million hands: don't move those hands into an auto import folder.
But run a "import from folder" on its location.
