bug or launching of HEM

hello!

my HEm work well for 2 months,and since last sunday,I can't make it start....
when i want to launch it,it says me:

"HEM has found some poker sites on your computer and added the hand history folders to the auto import list and created a backup folder in C:\HMArchive for imported hands
please check options-auto importe folders to ensure that the list complete"

I click on OK,and a blue window come(database control panel),to connect to the postgreSQL:
server name:127.0.0.1
port number= : 5432
login name: postgres
password: postgrespass

This is the same information that I set on first time I used it.,and when I click on connect,it says:

"A connection to PostSQl could not be made. Would you like to have HEM attempt to start service?"
I click on yes

it says:
"Sorry,HEM was unable to start the service"
"please try again"


what do I have to do???
I really don't understand!!

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot. If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 or else you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. Windows 7 you MUST set all the executables to always run as admin.

thanks for your answer.
i have deleted \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file
but i can't try to test HEM,because,since today i can't launcher anymore HEM,when i double click on HEM,there is no window who is opening...

when i make "ctrl+alt+suppr"("ctrl+alt+del"),for open the Windows Task Manager, in processus i can see that HEM is running,but i cant have acces to him....

Try uninstalling any anti-virus and firewall and reboot.

I'm on XP,I've desactivate my firewall and antivirus but nothing else happen,it doesn't launch...

fiou,I have reinstall windows XP ,reinstall HEM,and i suceed create database, and installing postsql,thanks!!!

now I've got another probleme,i can launche HEM,importe files,but I dont can't see session result because i can't choose an alias(a player)...
when i clique on cash game there is "you have not select a player to run in this port",so I click on change,I write my name,but it says "0results",but I have import the HH and in C:\HMArchive I have the HH imported...

what's happening?

The 'Player Alias' option is to connect 2 different poker site names together, under a new, unique Alias name. Before you can create an alias you want to be sure you can find your various site names. If you only play 1 site there is no need for an alias. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=35

The 'Hero Names' option is to help the HUD know where you are sitting at the table.

Cash Games > Reports > Click 'Change' and search your Poker Site name. Do not click the drop-down arrow. That opens a list of previously searched names.



If it has imported hands, and shows more than zero Players (xx,xxx), you should be able to search your name by clicking the change button.
