Hello, I have just started using HEM today with a code. I previously have tried HEM a year or two ago through its trial period.

Anyway, straight to the point. I have pinpointed my problem as to why I cannot import hands fully. I would start the "Auto-Import," and it would work for a few files, then it suddenly stops. Why? Because PostgreSQL is disconnecting on its own, and I would have to manually go to Control Panel => Admin => Services to manually start it again, BUT, even after that, it stops by itself again.

I have tried all of the FAQ with the uninstall/reinstalling of postgres with no luck. No firewalls are on, all my anti-viruses are off, nothing is running but HEM and FTP.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

I attempted every step in this thread: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=8261

to a tee, three times. And to no avail it did not work.

Which OS, firewall, and anti-virus are you using?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot. If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/showthread.php?t=20755

All of those FAQs did not help, and fully re-installing PostreSQL did not help either.

Something is obviously blocking it if it wont work with a clean reinstall of postgresql.

Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/TeamViewerQS.exe. It does not need to be installed, as it can run directly from your Desktop/Directory. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.
