Hi,

I can't start Holdem Manager, when I try to do it, the next message appears: "The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1"

I've tried to uninstall and install again, with no success.

Please, any idea?

Editing: I use Windows Vista.

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe

First try to reboot. If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands.

I've been trying to solve it without success. I've been trying not only the help issues in this forum discussion thread, but also those of other threads, without success.

The main problem is that with windows vista, when you have already put as user and Superuser postgres, when you reach the last steps of installation, it quits because the user has been already created, but there's no way in the "control panel or administration of tools" of windows vista to reach the account "postgres" you can only see it in "parental control", but not even delete it to start again the whole process.

I've been trying to generate users and superusers and the same thing has happened...

Please, could I program with you a TeamViewer Session?
How does it work?

Willing to make possible to run Hold'em manager,

Many thanks in advance,

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 or else you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab. Windows 7 you MUST set all the executables to always run as admin.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

*If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

I have created the auto import folder (c:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\HandHistory\XXXXXXX) and everything else that the manual says.

But only one file got imported, all the others it got errors on. And when I try to "setup hero names" I get this error message: Please enter in part of the players name to search for.

It is my screen name Im supposed to type in on "setup hero name" ?

Edit:

Im sorry, i didnt see that this was the wrong post.

How many Players(xx,xxx) are in your database?

Can you please answer the questions I posted in bold.

*If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

Make sure you attach your config file as described in step 9.

Please attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config.

- If your extensions are off you'll just see a file called holdemmanager.
- To attach it to a thread in the forums, look below the post reply button when you start a new thread and you'll see a manage attachments button.
- Click this and attach the file.
