Firstly, I would like to apologise if this is in the wrong forum, I was referred here, but wasn't 100% on where to post.

I posted a thread on the CardRunners forum about the ‘Catastrophic Failure’

(Xenocode Virtaual Appliance Runtime. This application has encountered an error: 0x8000FFFF, with the following description: Catastrophic failure. Please contact the publisher of this application for more information)

error message which occurred out of the blue after using Hold Em Manger for a month or so.

I was passed on to http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15484&highlight=catastrophic

I done a reinstall and I was able look over hands and use the database to analysise hands, data and so on. But whenever I tried to play with the HUD, it would stop importing after five or ix hands. When I had previously had this problem, the Beta Update fixed it. Now though, it returns to the Catastrophic error message quoted above. I have done this a few times and still run into the same problem.

I use Windows Vista, let me know if you need any other information, thanks.

Which version are you trying to install?

Please use the latest release 1.09.02: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe

This xenocode folders are no longer used for this version.
After updating to 1.09.02 make sure that UAC is still switched off or you are running holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe as Administrator.

That appears to have done the trick. I guess I was using the downloads from an older forum page.
Thanks a lot for your help.
