I just bought myself a new computer and put my old HD into this new one.

So now when im opening HM it says

"You are being asked to reactivate either because the hardware profile on your machine has changed significantly since you first installed the software or you have de-activated your license for installation on a new machine. You will need to reactivate your license in order to continue use."

So i press OK. Then Activate Online now.

Then select PC 2 (im already using the other license on a PC1), and click OK again.

And this message comes after

"There were errors during activation. You can retry activating online or go back and try another method. If problems presist please contact customer service."

1st question: how can i make this work?
2nd question: im looking forward to remove my old HD and keep my HM account running in this new computer, what should i do and what i shouldnt do?

thanks for any help you can give me!

Did you reinstall HM on the new computer? Or are you just running the previously installed files on the 2nd drive? You should install it properly on the new PC, so it can get properly installed.

Your old hard drive also has your old database? You can copy over your \postgresql\8.3\data folder and install the same version of postgresql.

For reinstalling SQL to the same DB, follow these steps:

1) Install the same version of PostgreSQL as your current DB using these instructions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
2) If you have moved/installed your DB to a non-default location, please make sure to change the 'Data Directory' path during the installation.

Otherwise you can just install a new empty DB and import your old \HMArchive and/or email your poker site support for the old hands.

To try and fix the reg issues, if/when properly installed:

Enable the options to see Hidden Files and System Protected Files: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html

1. Delete C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)

2. Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

3. Update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

If you can't find those files, contact support@holdemmanager.net - DO NOT delete any other files with similar names

Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

To get your current license from your running installation of HEM: Help > Show Serial Number

You will need to sign up, login, and then change your code, then logout/login, to verify it was reset.

First of all thanks for your answer.

Now, i cant find those two files:

C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat (Program Files (x86) if you have the 64bit version)

C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic

I do have a 64bit version and im using Windows 7 if that helps. Already sent an email to the support but got no answer yet, so here i am again :P

Anyway, after i reinstalled PostgresSQL and HM, put my licence ID again and all, but when i open the software a new error msg appears , this time it says:

"Unhandled exception has ocurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attemp to contieue. Of you click quit, the application will close inmediately.

The type initializer for 'Scanner.Form 1' threw an exception"

After i click continue an "Initializing database" window appears and get stucked there.

Any help? Thanks!

Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

You will need to sign up, login, and then change your code, then logout/login, to verify it was reset.

If that doesnt help please attach, or email in to support with a link to this thread, your Reg.log file from the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs folder.
