Hi,

I have 64bit win 7. HEM worked until yesterday. Program loads & validates and goes to task bar. I can see the main window by hovering over task bar. Cannot make it accessible by clicking task bar, alt-tabbing and selecting it, or with going to the program with task manager.

Any ideas what is happening?

What firewall and anti-virus are you using?

Under Windows 7 you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe to be started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executable's and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Hi Fozzy,

Programs are already set to run as administrator. Latest beta running. Using windows firewall and exceptions already added to it. Using Vipre anti-viral software, which has been instructed to allow HE full access.

OS is Win 7 ultimate on a 64 bit processor and Alien portable.

Any other ideas?

1) Close HM and the Table Manager.
2) Open \rvg software\Holdem Manager\Config\holdemmanager.config with notepad.
3) ~20 lines from the bottom of the file is this line:

<setting name="HoldemManagerPosition">Normal,1832,134,1054,512</setting>

You probably have some negative values or some very large values. This is making it open up off your screen.

Change it to something like this:

<setting name="HoldemManagerPosition">Normal,0,300,0,300</setting>

Thanks Fozzy,

The values in that line were -32000, -32000, 1634, 858

One last question. I am going to uninstall and reinstall HE manager on my portable (so that it and pt3 are running under the same version SQL version.) Is there anything I need to do to prevent license issues or will uninstalling the program automatically handle that?

If you are just reinstalling to the same PC, and not reformatting your OS, you shouldnt have any problems.

You can use the same code for 2 PC's, just choose the PC#2 slot when registering.

Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

To get your current license from your running installation of HEM: Help > Show Serial Number

You will need to sign up, login, and then change your code, then logout/login, to verify it was reset.
