Hi.

I have recently started using HEM again and this forum helped me set up my networked DB which now seems to be working... most of the time.

I often get all sorts of errors when starting up but a bit of persistence and it gets in.

Anyway, now I am in this is my problem.

I was playing a tournament on 5th November on Ladbrokes and all of my hands were importing with no problem at all... up until 18:40pm. All of those hands are still showing no problem. But the tournament continued on until 20:00pm and those hands are just not showing.

Before playing any other tournaments, yesterday I attempted to import by using the gamehistory.dat file and also the folder where it was located. The latter hands would not show.

So I retrieved the files in a .txt folder from the site (which presumably uses the .dat file aforementioned) and the hands I need to look at are all there in the .txt file. So I use that .txt file to import into HEM but they still refuse to show.

I have since played another game on my laptop and all of those hands are showing in my database. I am wondering if there is a special format that the hands need to be in for the .txt file to be read?

The .txt file begins like this...

** Hand # 2942349790 starting - 2009-11-05 18:49:30
** €3,000 GTD REBUY (6 SEAT) [3175491]:Table 18 [Multi Table Hold'em] (700.00|1400.00 NL - MTT) Real Money

Gledondo sitting in seat 1 with 26800.00
krackedkings sitting in seat 3 with 58513.50[Dealer]
masake sitting in seat 4 with 24607.50
LASFIGONA sitting in seat 5 with 7070.00
pathaisiam sitting in seat 6 with 40580.00
masake ante'd - 70.00
LASFIGONA ante'd - 70.00
pathaisiam ante'd - 70.00
Gledondo ante'd - 70.00
krackedkings ante'd - 70.00
masake posted the small blind - 350.00
LASFIGONA posted the big blind - 700.00

** Dealing cards to krackedkings: 5h, 10d
pathaisiam folded
Gledondo folded
krackedkings folded
masake raised to 1400.00
LASFIGONA folded
masake mucks:
masake wins 2450.00 from the main pot

I would appreciate any help. From reading other threads, I know there are certain questions you ask so here are my answers...

1) What version of Holdem Manager are you using eg
1.09 Beta 43

2) What Poker Site are you playing on and which gametype and does the problem occur on more than 1 site?

Ladbrokes (microgaming network)
Pokerstars works just fine.

2a) Have you clicked the Start Auto Import Button?
Yes

3) Have you the settings exactly as per the FAQ for your site?
Yes. I have hundreds of Ladbrokes hands listed.

4) Can you see the Hand History files showing up in the correct Folder on your PC, this folder should be indentical to the path location you set in Options > Configure Auto Import Folder in HM? If so please copy and paste the location as shown in the FAQ?
Yes. C:\Microgaming\Poker\ladbrokesMPP

5) Are the hands being imported into Holdem Manager?
I cannot see them and when using the .txt file it reads 0 hands imported.

5a) Do they import if you create a new database?
Same as above.

6) Have You Tried the Table Finder and did it work?
Yes

7) If you open the HH are they written in English?
Yes

8) If your using Vista have you UAC disabled?
Yes

9) Have you attached the holdemmanager.config file?
Yes

I think there is something wrong with the handhistory files. Please mail them with a link to this thread to support@holdemmanager.net

Hey,

Didn't want to make another thread for my import problem so will post it here.

I just restored my database from a backup-file. It's all good but Pacific Poker hands are all errors when I try to import them.
Weird thing is that if I create a new empty database - they import just fine.
So how to get them to import to this restored database of mine?

It sounds like the restored version has become corrupt for some reason, which is not all that uncommon. This is why it is so important to backup all your original hands as well as export your DB to text before backup/restore.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754

Are you using 1.09 Final Version? If not:

*Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
*If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

I just want to be sure you havent setup something wrong before I tell you to nuke your old DB.

If you were using the latest version:

Here are my standard instructions for someone with your type of DB problems.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754

Hi, we don't support Prima exported hand imports right now. I did try importing your gamehistory.dat you sent me and all the hands were there including the one you busted out on with A9. You could try renaming the file and then using Import File to import it again and it will grab any missing hands.

Yea well, I guess it's time to reimport the hands. Looks like I never get proper results through backup/restore. I always end up with a corrupted database.

BTW, about exporting/reimporting hands:
It seems like every time I export my hands and reimport them, some % of hands will be lost due to import errors while reimporting.
Looks like there's something wrong in exporting system.

Thanks for the reply RVG but I just don't get it.

First of all, I believe Prima is actually Microgaming these days so perhaps that is where the confusion is?

As I explained, I have hands imported from before this session and after this session... all from Microgaming.

So how can you say that HEM does not support importing hands from MG? It doesn't make any sense.

It is just this one period of time that I cannot get the DB to show and I have tried importing the file, from the folder and also the .txt. file that has been sent. It is almost as if the hands are there but refusing to show!

Please could you address this issue again as the reason I purchsed HEM when I already have Poker Tracker is because it is meant to work on Microgaming... and it does with the exception of this one session!

Thanks

What Roy said is you can't import hands you receive from Prima via mail.

I suggest you create a new database as a test and try to import the hands via import file or import from folder to see if it makes a difference.
