Hi,

I'm gonna try to be clear. Since I have a large database with enough hands on most of my oponents, I don't need to have my HUD refreshed as frequently. Is it possible to lower refresh frequency and most of all will it have effects on my PC performances ? I use to 16 table on my 3 year old laptop and when I switch on my HUD playing can become laggy at times.

TY for your reply.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

For basic DB performance I would suggest you do the majority of the things in this thread: http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11194

Some of the most important things, imo:

- Remove the WinnerName, WinnerCards and WinnerWon from the Hands View Column Selector
- Turning off logging and deleting existing logs
- Vacuum/Full/Analyze, then Reindex - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=163
- Defrag last and make sure you stop the postgresql service before you defrag. I personally use Smart Defrag.
- Do a Cold Boot (Shut Down > Start) before you use HM again

To help with he HUD:

- Disable Multiple Panels if you use them
- Change the Opacity settings to 100% (non-transparent)
- If using a transparent HUD panel background, switch to a solid color like black.

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 or holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe, and dbcontrolpanel.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe, and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

TY for your job Fozzy, with 2+2 your post count is gonna explode ...

How often it imports hands? Sorry, I went the way of HUD performance, instead of the auto import timer.

close HEM

\holdem manager\config\holdemmanager.config

Default is 5 seconds

<setting name="AutoImportTimerDuration">5</setting>

Hi,

Too bad my english sucks, I think thre is a little misunderstanding, I don't wanna change importing hands frequency, I just wanna lower the frequency HUD refreshes and updates stats according to new imported hands since I have a very decent sample on most of my oponents, I don't need to have my HUD refreshed as often so I was asking to myself if it would increase general computer performances since HUD wouldn't have to refresh as often of my 16 tables, which is quite a lot.

TY for your reply.

FTM I'm gonna try to lower importing frequency.

Sorry just to be sure it means HEM imports hand histories every 5 seconds right ?
