i thirdid this; changed nothing except a norton update that i was suppose to do like 3 weeks ago lol; but i dont think that is the reason i cant connect to host server....

other then that i changed nothing and it worked fine last night....

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Tuncay i cant see that image its too small. You can attach via the manage attachments on this boards if its easier.

Id say its probably either the data connection error or else the can connect to 127.0.0.1 error. So please try these solutions:

http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=34
http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=153

Haam and booaha can you let me know the exact error please when you try and connect

Ok thanks for that, are you using the newest version http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.06.03g.exe

Its usually a problem with your firewall/antivirus and some times the only way of fixing it is to completely uninstall the program as they can still effect things when there closed down. Reinstalling PostgreSQL might work for a while but the problem usually comes back intermittingly. Id start by disabling firewalls and antiviruses first to see if that works and/or adding HM and postgreSQL to their exceptions list and reboot

well i deleted norton last night then tried turning off firewalls and everything and still wouldnt work.

Ireinstalled norton today and delted all my HM and Postgres files and was going to start over.

So we have norton installed but nothing HM related on

1)installed HM
2) got to the last screen of PostGress installer where is asks for superuser pass and then it says "The port number is already in use. please specify a different port"

so i dont know what to do i cant install this postgres...................

im glad this is under trial though cause i have had more days of this not working then working.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, the same error message. I haven't uninstalled postgresql, because I would prefer to keep my database alive! I have disabled my firewall and I did the right things with stuff like "run as an administrator" or other control pannel options.

All was OK before it automatically installed me the Windows Vista service pack 1. Just after the installation of the service pack 1 for vista, I had this error message and don't know what to do to fix it...

If someone has an idea please tell me because it's a pain to play without HEM!

Regards

Your database is stored in c:\program files\postgreSQL\postgreSQL8.x\Data

Uninstalling PostgreSQL doesent delete this folder. Maybe you installed a different version and so you have c:\program files\postgreSQL\postgreSQL8.2\Data and also a c:\program files\postgreSQL\postgreSQL8.3\Data ?
