View Full Version : HUD freezes computer

Hi,

My HUD crashes my computer once every 15-20mins or so, and lasts for about a minute. All the windows say "Not Responding", and I can't do anything, I can't even close the thing down. I'm using Vista, 4 tabling Pokerstars, UAC is off and I only have about 40k hands in my database. I'm using the latest Beta. The problem seems to be random, not when I'm clicking anything in particular.

Are you saying it's to be expected? It's a new computer, I shouldn't have to upgrade any hardware. I'm using the latest version, and my database is small, and all the hands have been purged.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

Enable logging from the HUD options->Table prefs menu. When the crash happens again, go to the logs\log.txt file and move it to another location before you restart the hud. I want to get the 'crash' log.txt file after you finish playing. If you restart the hud before moving the log.txt file, it is overwritten.

Ok, this problem is back now and worse than before. I've gone through all the suggestions in the performance tips, i've shut every other program down, uninstalled firewall, anti-virus, purged, vacuumed & analysed many times. It's unusable as it is now, it's crashing every 10 minutes for about a minute at a time and there's no way of closing the program down, it freezes everything.

Which HM version are you using at the moment? Is it 1.09 or 1.09.01?

Try a clean reinstall of 1.09.00 and update to 1.09.02 using revo uninstaller.

Uninstalled, reinstalled and updated to 1.09.02. Same problem with just 4 tables open.
