I noticed it's importing duplicate hands/errors. Also, the importer sometimes gets a little slow after hours of playing and causes my games to lag.

Which pokersite?
Which gametype?
Which HM version?
Which operating system?

please attach your holdemmanager.config file from c:\program files(x86)\rvg software\holdem manager\config folder (or something similar depending on your installation). it may be just called holdemmanager if you've extensions turned off.

Update to: HM1: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.10_13Mar2011.exe

That has got a virus in it. My AV removed it and then HEM encountered a error and had to close.

What anti-virus do you have? Holdem Manager sometimes has conflicts with Mcaffee and Norton. I would recommend that you temporarily disable your anti-virus when you install Holdem Manager from Patvs link.

avira

The "virus" in HoldemManager is a false positive (not an actual virus).
Virus scanners (and malware scanner) detect it because HoldemManager (and TableScanner) use OCR (optical character recognition) to read the chat (live tracking) and to scan the lobby (TableScanner).

OCR is detected as a "threat", but you should ignore the false positive warning and just installl it.

This new update isn't working. I re-downloaded it, disabled my AV, unpacked the diff version, tried to open up HM and it just sat there forever spinning it's wheels w/that wide rectangular box. I had to ctrl alt delete it to terminate it.

1.12.10 performs a database update.
You should wait until it unfreezes or finishes the update.

Can take a very long time.

I left it running & came back to this:

"An error occured while updating your DB (Big Pots Support) A timeout has occured. If you were establishing a connection, increase timeout value in Connection String. If you were executing a command, increate the CommandTimeout value in ConnectionString or in your Npgsql Command Object.

Please close down any other programs accessing the database & relaunch Holdem Manager."

Run dbcontrolpanel.exe--> and create a new database--> start HoldemManager.

I don't know how to do that. I opened up Db Ctrl Panel & it just shows (sql) server name, port number, login name & password.

Ok thanks,

I'm supposed to export & reimport hands though? Can I just reimport hands from merge?

Patvs

Yes, export the hands: Database Management--> Connect--> select your database--> (set it as default)-->EXPORT HANDS.

Then reimport them into a new EMPTY database.
(run a import from folder, on the folder where the hands were saved)

I had begun to export the hands & was in the process of selecting location and realized they needed to be exported to the location below but i went & looked for that folder but it doesn't exist. I left the windows open while i figured out what to do. I came back to the computer & it said "all hands have been exported..." I don't know how to proceed.

1. Select the Database you want to export.
2. Click Export Hands.
3. Hand Histories will be saved to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\HandHistoryExport_InstallGuide

There are no files in that folder, or you can't find the folder?
It might be a hidden folder:

enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg

Export your hands again, select an easy folder you've created beforehand, like C:/hands

As in, that location doesn't exist. I just created C:/hands

Ok, I've done all this & it is still importing duplicate hands. Just now, imported 1 hand & 80 duplicate hands.

please attach the original HH to an email and send it to support@holdemmanager.com We will need to replicate the problem so that we can develop a fix. Also please include a link to this thread in your email.

Thanks

ollie.

I don't know how to do that.

Email us a sample of the files in C:/hands that when you reimport them result in duplicate hands.

I emailed support, they said last week they will look into. I've yet to receive a response since.

I imported your hands.
2561 hands. 0 duplicates. 0 errors.

Try: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.10_02Apr2012.exe

I don't know why you guys aren't getting duplicates. Maybe I sent the wrong hands, I went into the folder and grabbed some from the beginning & last. I'm still getting duplicate hands being imported.

Patvs

You sent two files:
1 with freeroll hands from PokerStars
second file with the 2561 hands I imported.

It's possible duplicate hands exist in your database, if your database is corrupt.
For the Stars hands, you can always import the original handhistories from your archive folder (or email PokerStars and request the hands for every hand you've ever played)

I'm not worried about pokerstars hh since I'm in the US. I accidentally sent you hh from 4yrs ago & also most recent cause I didn't know where in the folder to find the latest HH that had duplicate hands. I'm playing mostly merge now.

Patvs

2561 hands. 0 duplicates. 0 errors.

These were all Merge hands.
