I couldn't start up HEM.
I installed the new beta.
It still didn't work and I got this error report:

http://i36.tinypic.com/jjagp5.jpg

I am a computer newb so I can't find this out on myself.
What can I do?

0. Make sure you have installed the latest Beta version.
1. Note your database connection settings from the database management (or from your current .config file)
2. Close holdemmanager
3. Go to the folder config in the holdemmanager installation path
4. Rename the file holdemmanager.config to holdemmanager.config.corrupt or sth. like that.
5. Under Vista make sure that UAC is switched off or check the administrator settings for holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe under properties->compatibility
6. Restart Holdemmanager
7. Holdemmanager reinstalls and displays some messages and warnings
7a. A new holdemmanager.config file is generated
8. Reconfigure your database connection
9. After successful start reconfigure your Auto-import settings

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, choose the Select All > Delete buttons to remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and rename the current, working \config folder to \config_original. Now copy your \config folder from step 1 and paste it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ fodler, to replace the one you just renamed.
9) Test if it works again for a while
10) If your old config folder causes problems, you can paste the contents of the \config_original folder back in.

It's kinda annoying that HEM isn't working for me because it really boosts my hourly.

7. Didn't work, I needed a serial number which I got from support (at) holdemmanager.net.
8. Did that.
9. Didn't work.
10. Did that, didn't change anything.

This is the error report I get now:

I don't understand this error report since the config file is in it's place.

Seems like you installed the update to a different folder then the full version?

Both have to be in the same path.

No, pretty sure it's in the same folder. I think I'm going to ask for remote assistance because this is just too much for me to handle.

Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net with a link to this thread, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/TeamViewerQS.exe. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

This is starting to be a one big joke.

So I get assistance through TeamViewer by someone over at support@holdemmanager.net. I load up a couple of tables and HEM works fine. Today I am about to start a session and I load up HEM. And once again it's not working, this is the error report I get:

http://i38.tinypic.com/2vwa4xe.jpg
then I connect to PostgreSQL and I get this:

http://i38.tinypic.com/21ech6s.jpg

How can I solve this problem?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it, and reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) reinstall the same version of postgresql, using the same \data folder - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help you will probably have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely and reimport your hands.
