Installed Windows 7 64 bit and now have Holdem Manager apparently running and finding the database etc.

But, there are no hands or tourney histories showing up.

I copied my entire Holdem Manager directory to another hard drive and also somehow exported some hand histories and tournament histories.

I have copied that back into the C drive overwriting the new installation and would think everything should be there.

But no ... no hands at all showing up.

No hero names either.
When I try the setup hero name there is nothing but (PP) in the list, twice.

What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do right? :)

I also see some hand histories on the backup drive where I just copied the folders and I have copied them back but it doesn't help.

When I look in C:\Program Files(x86)\Full Tilt Poke\Hand Histories there are two histories. There are several in a file called Old Hand Histories.

There should be thousands but I have no idea where they are. But I do have my entire old C drive backed up via Acronis so I can grab any files I need but don't know what is missing.

Under Windows 7 you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe to be started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executable's and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

That is not how you do this, especially when changing OS. Did you save your old \postgresql\8.x\data folder? Did you backup your postgresql DB?

Regarding your archived/original hands.

Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.

To verify the prev location, open up your backed copy of the \holdem manager\config\holdemmanager.config file, and you should be able to find it in the auto import folder setting portion of the code.

Here are my backup and reinstall cliff notes.

Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

Make sure you export your tournament summaries: Tourney > Results > Dataview > All Hands > Right-Click > Export Tourney Results and Summaries.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

How do I export or import hands into and from Holdem Manager? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.

Start Holdem Manager and connect/create a new UTF DB to import the archived hands if you dont use the backup/restore.
