I purchased and attempted to install the software this evening and encountered some problems during installation. When the "Initializing Database..." window came up, the following two unexpected windows also popped up. I've tried to use Tinypic to post screenshots of these windows but they're not always showing up when I preview, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Hopefully a moderator can give me an idea of what my problem is. Thanks!

False positive.

Close HEM and your anti-virus and delete any \xenocode\appliance cache folders and any other possible false positive files.

1. Enable "Show hidden files and folders" under Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View
2. Go to C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Xenocode\Appl iance Cache and delete every folder you can find in there

If you are on XP, that location is C:\Documents and Settings\%USERPROFILE%\Local\Application Data\xenocode\appliance cache

Empty your recycle bin.

reboot

If you have kaspersky:

* Go into the KAV settings window.
* Navigate to the Service node.
* Here, turn on the Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection option.

If that does not work then find the "Heuristic Scanning" option in Kaspersky and disable that.

Thank you for the help. Now I have a much smaller issue. It's telling me that "There are issues with your liscense." I went to reset my registration key and couldn't log in. I thought I had set my account up using the user name "Assmodius" and one of my standard passwords, but it's not taking either.

Could someone please look into the account attached to the address assmodius@gmail.com? I just set it up a few hours ago (the HEM account, not the email address). I tried to handle this on my own by requesting a new password but it's not taking my username either so, sadly, I have to have someone inside email me what I need. If I could get a password reset sent to that address, I'm sure I can handle it from there.

Thanks for looking into this!

You need to create a new user for the registration system. It is a separate system.
Choose assmodius for example and enter password etc. Then enter your key and reset it.

But i'm not sure this will fix your problem.

Check this too:

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe, dbcontrolpanel.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe, dbcontrolpanel.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

If you still have license problems:
1) Downgrade to 1.09 Beta 34 - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.09.34.exe
2) Delete \RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat
3) Register the 1.09 Beta 34 version
4) Close HEM
