What error do you get? You linked me to a page with many posters and not a specific post of one person.

The old versions are in that same forum as the thread you linked to.

This one?

Did you do what was suggested for him? Are you still getting false positive virus warnings too? Are you also using kaspersky?

* Go into the KAV settings window.
* Navigate to the Service node.
* Here, turn on the Compatibility mode for programs using self-protection option.

If that does not work then find the "Heuristic Scanning" option in Kaspersky and disable that.

If none of that works, find a different AVP for a while.

I'm using AVG Free 9.0.

And even when I turn it right off and try to install beta 40-41, I get the same error. But when I install beta 38, it works fine.

Try these steps:

Close HEM and your anti-virus and delete any \xenocode\appliance cache folders and any other possible false positive files.

1. Enable "Show hidden files and folders" under Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View
2. Go to C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Xenocode\Appl iance Cache and delete every folder you can find in there

If you are on XP, that location is C:\Documents and Settings\%USERPROFILE%\Local\Application Data\xenocode\appliance cache

Empty your recycle bin.

reboot

Yes with beta 42. If I find some time I'll do that, otherwise I'll stick with beta 38 for now.

If that does not work then find the "Heuristic Scanning" option in Kaspersky and disable that.

Beta 42 does seem to work fine for some people with kaspersky.

Just installed beta42 and it seems to have fixed the false positives with Kaspersky 2010, I didn't need to make any changes in the settings in Kaspersky.

That is Kaspersky.

If these steps that I have previously suggested dont help, then do as I said and email us in support so we can setup a teamviewer session to take a look at it.

Ok so I emailed support over 1 week ago and haven't got a response yet.

I've tried everything you've mentioned and it still doesn't work, I can only update to beta 38. I am using Parallels 5 with Windows XP.

This is the error I'm getting:

http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo220/TripleJ84/hemerror.jpg

Then I have to press quit, if I press continue, it stays at validating.

I also posted my Windows Task Manager in another thread:
http://forums.holdemmanager.net/showthread.php?t=21860

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Why can you only use beta 38??

Could you try updating to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe 1.09.02

Also in Windows XP can you run a Windows update and please reinstall your Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Software and uninstall every Microsoft .NET Framework you can find in the list
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

I can only use beta 38 b/c its the only one that works. When I try to install the newest one, I get the error I posted earlier. Then I have to go back to install beta 38 to be able to use the program.

I tried uninstalling Microsoft Framework like you said, but I get the following error:

Download and run this in XP: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip

It can correctly uninstall .Net.
Afterwards install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

Reboot/Restart XP

Do a Windows Update for any other critical update (Service Pack 3, etc.)
Reupdate HEM to 1.09.02.
