Read my post.

What firewall are you using. Once I uninstalled mine, HEM worked fine again.

9/10 times this is a windows update and can be fixed with a simple file deletion.

delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file abd try to connect.

First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help at all we may want to schedule a remote support session to assist you.

I'm using Panda Internet Security since Friday and have been playing since then without any problem. I believe it can be because of its firewall but tried to desactivate the firewall and the problem persists :/

EDIT: Fozzy, there is no postmaster.pid at this folder. I have postmaster.opts

I've been using Zone Alarm for 3 months and it was working fine. As soon as I removed it, it worked fine.

Glad you got it working.

Thanks for trying to help me too lunatic!
Fortunately it was only a windows process disabled! :)
