Problem:

Since a few days, my table manager won't load upon clicking "start auto-import" in holdemmanager.

Tried:

Start all hm-exe files as admin, incl. DBControlPanel.exe
Shut down firewall / add all exe files as exeption.
Did a full virus scan
Rebooted several times :P
Turned off virus scanner (AVG)
Checked 'Launch hud with auto-import' in 'HUD options' (was already on)
Did a full re-install.

Work-around:

Manually open hmhud.exe. Works without problems. Hud also appears. But it's annoying.

Further info:

- Windows 7 x64
- Hm 1.12.09
- First time i've got this problem

I've seen this problem before, but most people weren't able to open hmhud.exe manually. I can.

Any solutions?

When other users are experiencing this, Norton has either literally deleted hmhud.exe, or a program like Comodo is blocking it.

Is your Windows 7 update to service pack 1? Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Turn on Windows Firewall.

Hey Patvs,

Thank you for your reply. Hmhud.exe looks blocked indeed, but i can open it manually without any trouble/error message/event log message.

Windows firewall is on again and UAC sucks so has always been shut.

Windows 7 service pack 1 is already installed.

I'm afraid the only solution is a complete re-install of Windows, and that's too much for now. SOME software is screwing things up, but I've got no idea what. I even changed my virus scanner (from Vipre to AVG), but without success.

If you have any ideas, the're welcome ofc.

Turn on Windows Defender, and set exceptions for the entire /HoldemManager folder.

Reinstall HoldemManager to a different folder, like C:/Poker/HoldemManager
(any location that is a non system folder, which a C:/Program Files/ subfolder is)

Holdemmanager was never installed to a system dir, and excluding it from win.def. doesn't fix the problem. Thank you for your assistance; it must be some other crapware.

Think i found the problem. I'm using a quicklaunch gadget for poker related programs, downloaded from Build.A.Gadget (http://buildagadget.com/). When i start HM from the gadget, the start auto-import button doesn't automatically load tablemanager. When i start holdemmanager from a normal shortcut, it does.

I feel a little stupid. :)
