I just upgraded to windows 7 yesterday and am unable to get HEM to import hands. I downloaded the most recent beta and when I click "Auto Import" or "Import Files" all holdem manager does is say "Importing..." and there is no progress being made and no hands being imported. Where should i start to fix this problem? Thanks

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 or else you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu. Windows 7 you MUST set all the executables to always run as admin.

I apologize for any delay, but no one ignored you. It has only been a few hours, and we are short-handed today, so you had to wait while I did some remote support sessions.

yea, looks like turning the UAC in windows 7 all the way down to the lowest setting/off fixed the problem thanks

I would suggest you just set the programs to run as admin, and then you can use UAC on any setting.

You must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu. Windows 7 you MUST set all the executables to always run as admin.

How is windows 7 handling HM and your poker cient? You multi table with this set up and it works well, no lag? I am on XP hesitant to switch over to 7.

Thank you,

Arlo

After following fozzy's directions, i find that Hold'em Manager runs great on Win 7.

Another reason for HM to be regarded as the premiere tool for tracking poker play.

Windows 7 you MUST set all the executables to always run as admin.

If you right-click and select "Run as admin" that just runs it that one time, right? You actually need to navigate to "Properties" and check the "Run as administrator" box, correct?

Also, if your user IS an administrator, doesn't that do the same thing? When I do either of the above, the executable still shows up in Task Manager as running under my user, and at the moment import still isn't working, but I haven't upgraded to the latest beta yet.
