Hello,

i literally just DLed and installed HEM2 as an upgrade to my HEM and everything went smooth, had to upgrade .NET or something and accidentally checked the posgres box even though it was already installed, so the initial install had to be restarted...just wanted to add that part before I continued.

anyways i got to the part where in the setup I imported my existing database...i did that and then clicked finish....I walked away and came back a second later and HEM2 was not open on my screen. now whenever ive launched it, it seems to dissapear or crash within a minute or so, before I can even do anything etc.

please help me get this fixed, so I can get to playing ASAP.

Thanks

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin"from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

Hi.

Please delete everything except for the database, notecaddydefinitions, backups and config folders in:

7: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\
You must show both hidden files and check unhide system files. See this: How to show hidden files in Windows 7 (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial151.html)

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager
For showing hidden files and unhide system files, see this: Microsoft Corporation (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/win_fcab_show_file_extensions.mspx?mfr=true)

Uninstall and reinstall this version of HM2: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Hm2_2.0.0.6384.exe

Please add holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncapps.exe, postgres.exe, pg_ctl.exe and hmupdate.exe (available only during an update) to the list of exceptions in your firewall and antivirus.

Please make sure that you are running as an administrator.

You may need to uninstall your AV, install HM2, and reinstall your AV.

Have you made any changes to your computer recently?

no i havent made any changes...well now that you mention it, AVAST updated to a new version within the last week or so....but other than that, I havent done anything.

HEM doesnt work on all of my merge tables which is why I went ahead and upgraded and bought HEM2 but even when its not crashing, it doesnt work and I cannot see the HUD on my tables....plus it seems to be very laggy whenever I click on anything.

I will try that what you suggested....
until then, do you know of anyway to get my original HEM to function on all MERGE tourneys??

just wanna mention, thought it was funny and ironic lol but theres a file in my HEM folder you referred to called "OneTime.R1" hahaah ONE TIME!!

so its been a few weeks and i still havent got my HEM2 to work.

i didnt realize I needed to be a computer wiz to get this running....im about to just ask for a refund since I was expecting something a bit more user friendly.

pretty disappointed.

this has cost me alot of money and problems not only playing HUD-less but also HEM2 is so laggy that whenever i am trying to run it, my computer is locking up all the time and i time out on all my tables then HEM2 just shuts down randomly anyways, oh and still no HUD. i was so happy with HEM1 that i blindly put trust in you guys and upgraded to HEM2 before doing my research and now i'm paying for it dearly. thanks guys
