Is it possible to run HM and the table scanner on a separate hard drive? Will it still be able to gather hands and scan the sites on the hard drive I am playing on? Would this help with lagging that HM causes?

Since I am having problems with HM causing my computer to lag when I am playing, would it be better to have a separate hard drive for holdem manager or should I just purchase a bigger hard drive and more ram?

The best option is a 2nd drive, dedicate for the postgresql database. SSD (solid state drive is the best way to go). Then you reinstall postgresql and make a new \data directory on the new drive. I plan to add a SSD this winter for my poker DB.
