0. Make sure you have installed Beta 40
1. Note your database connection settings from the database management
2. Close Holdemmanager
3. Go to the folder config in the holdemmanager installation path
4. Rename the file holdemmanager.config to holdemmanager.config.corrupt
or sth. like that.
5. Under Vista make sure that UAC is switched off or check the
administrator settings for holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and
dbcontrolpanel.exe under properties->compatibility
6. Restart Holdemmanager
7. Holdemmanager reinstalls and displays some messages and warnings
7a. A new holdemmanager.config file is generated
8. Reconfigure your database connection
9. After successful start reconfigure your Auto-import settings
10. Table manager should start again.

1. Start your Holdemmanager and start Options->Database management.
Make a note of the settings you see there.

8. Enter the settings you noted under 1. again.
9. Import->Configure Auto-Import settings: reconfigure the handhistory folders for the pokersites you are playing at (description in the FAQ). This is necessary because they all are lost because of the steps before.

If you can't see it, turn off the windows option that is hiding that directory. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

If that doesnt work, try a revo reinstall.

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, choose the Select All > Delete buttons to remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and rename the current, working \config folder to \config_original. Now copy your \config folder from step 1 and paste it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ fodler, to replace the one you just renamed.
9) Test if it works again for a while
10) If your old config folder causes problems, you can paste the contents of the \config_original folder back in.
11) Now you can import any notes and hud configs.

I have gotten to the point where I reopen HEM and it tries to reinstall but it comes up with the following message.

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an eltenate path to folder contraining the installation package 'HoldemManagerSetupProject.msi' in the box below.

Clicking OK again did not work so where should I go from here? Thanks.

If you are a Vista User please make sure that holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe all run as administrator (in the properties of this files).

Thats a permission problem.
Make sure that UAC is switched off and / or holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe are started as administrator (in the compatibilty properties of the files).

this ^^^^ happened to me, Avast-pro was the reason, had to set HEM/postgres as exeptions, that fixed it.

Actually, he isnt installing it for the first time netsrak. The deleting of the config file sometimes requires you to point towards the original install files, before it will restart HM. I had this happen a couple of times during support sessions. I would have to download holdemmanager10804.zip and unzip it. then start HM like normal so it could ask for the original install files. It is reminiscent of microsoft office products asking for the CD when doing menial tasks. :D
