Hi,

I got a problem on my laptop with holdem manager. When I open my tables and start playing with holdem manager, the hud isn't redable because it shakes, appear in double while shaking and disappear. It is really strange and I dont know what to do to fix this problem.

Thanks to help me as soon as possible!

Jeff

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.

I would suggest you do the majority of the things in this thread: http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11194

Some of the most important things, imo:

- Remove the WinnerName, WinnerCards and WinnerWon from the Hands View Column Selector
- Turning off logging and deleting existing logs
- Vacuum/Full/Analyze, then Reindex - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=163
- Defrag last and make sure you stop the postgresql service before you defrag. I personally use Defraggler.
- Do a Cold Boot (Shut Down > Start) before you use HM again

I think I made every thing you said but it continues to do it!

How old is your computer? What are the specs?

Start > Computer > Right-Click > Properties

That should tell the processor CPU and amount of RAM.

The computer is a (Laptop):
-Acer AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile (I think its a 2004 or 2003)
-Technology ML-30
-800MHz, 448 Mo of RAM
-Microsoft Windows XP Professionnel Verson 2002

A 5 or 6 year old laptop is going to be laggy (they have 5400rpm hard drives, unlike a desktop's 7200rpm). Any 6 year old computer is going to be less than ideal. My last computer was a 3 year old desktop, with a dual core processor and 2gb of RAM. It had no issues 8-tabling with HUD while multi-tasking.

Your 'hud shaking' is a bit unusual, but it could probably be due in part to the low specs of your system. How long have you been using HEM? Has the HUD always exhibited this behavior? I can ask the support manager or hud developer to take a look at this thread also, to see if they have any other suggestions.

Multiple panels in the Hud turned off? Opacity to the max?

Did you really update your gfx driver?

Please tell us the exact model of the graphics card and we will find the driver you need.

To switch of Multiple panels: Hud Options -> Player preferences -> choose your active Hud -> appearance -> multiple panels.

For the other questions you should look at the support page of your laptop producer

The multiple panels is turned off and the opacity to the max.

I don't know how to update my gfx driver. I went on Acer's web site but I found nothing about that.

For the model of the graphics card, I am not able to see what it is but maybe you can see if there is the model in those informations:

Acer Aspire 5000 (Laptop)
Aspire 5002WLMi
-AMD Turion 64 ML-30 processor (1MB L2 cache, 1.6GHz)
-80 GB HDD
-DVD-Dual (Support DVD+R Double Layer/DVD+RW)
-512MB DDR
-802.11b/g wireless LAN

EDITTTT: I'VE FOUND THE MODEL OF THE GRAPHICS CARD.... SiS M760GX I tried to put it up to date but it says that there is no better version. The date of the graphics card is 03/01/2005 and its the original graphic card so my computer is almost 5 years old I guess...

I found that on the acer web page but I am not able to see an update about de graphics card or the gfx driver...
