View Full Version : Error Msg: Can't write prefs files! Retry?

I play on PS and just yesterday all of my stats disappeared. When I tried to restart HUD it gave me this error:

Can't write prefs files! Retry?

I clicked ok and then I got the following:

Couldn't load config\PosPref.txt
If you continue new panel positions will be written
Do you want to continue?

When I say ok then the stats are all out of position. I replaced them only to have to restart HUD and repeat the process another couple of times later.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TY,
LC

Delete the posPref.txt file from C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder while HM is closed then restart HM and fix your stats and then use save positions http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=149

Hi,

I've had this problem (and resolved it using your above solution) four times now, and on each occasion the error has returned within 24 hours. Can you please look into a more permanent fix as re-arranging the stats each day is getting quite annoying.

Cheers,

Can you try this version which includes an option to export and import configuration http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.06.03betawhud.exe

When you have it setup export your configuration so you at least have a backup but hopefully it will solve the re-occuring problem and let us know if it dosent

Can you completely delete all your files in the config folder and redo your hud and play like that and see if its something in one of those other config files thats causing the problem. You can backup your config folder if you like

To backup your config files just copy and paste all the files in the config folder to a new folder, just in case its not a corrupt files you can use them again

Also should have said, dont delete your holdemmanager.config file although its no big deal if you did youll just have to setup your auto import folders again

Any permanent fix yet? I tried deleting the files after backing them up. Was kind of a pain as I had to redo the HUD to some extent, but even worse, it didn't work.
