Hello,

i hope you can help me. Excuse my bad English

My Holdem Manger work very fine with all Update but now with Update to
Beta 40 the holdem Manager hangs during the start. He tries to validate an than come teh Unhandle Exception.

Restart your PC and Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.


If that doesnt work my next suggestion would be a clean reinstall with revo.


Before you uninstall HM:

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

Make sure you export your tournament summaries: Tourney > Results > Dataview > All Hands > Right-Click > Export Tourney Results and Summaries.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.



1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, choose the Select All > Delete buttons to remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and rename the current, working \config folder to \config_original. Now copy your \config folder from step 1 and paste it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ fodler, to replace the one you just renamed.
9) Test if it works again for a while
10) If your old config folder causes problems, you can paste the contents of the \config_original folder back in.
11) Now you can import any notes and hud configs.

after installing. The HM Starts hang on "Validating" an nothing more happend and
the Unhandled Exceptions appears.

Info: Beta 38 an Beta 37 works fine

My Infrustructur: Windows XP SP3 with .Net 3.5 SP1

Have you any idea what can i do???

I've uninstalled HEM and reinstalled with v1.09beta patch 38 and it is working as per normal.
I had the installation file still saved on my PC - not sure if you can get from the site to download still. Perhaps a good idea to re-post for those of us experiencing problems with beta 40

Hi,

i have a Kaspersky Antivirus Business Edition 6.x.

Now, i install Beta 40 without active Kaspersky and after install i start HM Beta 40 without Kasperky but it is the same problem with the exceptions.

I have downloaded the Teamviewr.

Time Zone: Europe/Berlin (Germany)

A good Time is under the week after 5:00 PM.

OK, i wrote a mail.

But with the Kasperky:

If the Kaspersky disabled or better complete no active process but the exception is displayed anyway. Then there is no chance to start if i only disable
the heuristic scanning.

OK but i have try it anyway. I dont find a option to disable heuristic Scanning in Kaspersky Business Security.

OK, New Beta 41 is out -> Next Try

The Same issue the version before. I became a "Unhandled Exception" while start Holdem Manger and validate Licence Data.

What can I do! I install beta 37 that is OK -> is this the Solution?????

1) Downgrade to 1.09 Beta 34 - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.09.34.exe
2) Please enable the option to see Hidden Files - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html
2) Delete \RVG Software\Holdem Manager\holdemmanager.exe.ldat
3) Register the 1.09 Beta 34 version
4) Close HEM
5) Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
6) Open HEM

Thank you for your help.

OK I try two ways:

First i try your tip and follow your instructions step for step without success.

I have a VMWare and i can go back to a Snapshot.

Additional i deinstall hm, deinstall postgress, Reinstall SP3, Reinstall .NET Runtime --without success

Thank you for your help but i think its easier for me and you to install my vm complete new.;)

I hope in the new VM the holdem manager beta 41 is starting correctly.

Now I have found the Problem!!!

It is the Kaspersky it is not enought to stop it for the test. If you deinstall Kaspersky the HM starts without any Problem.

I decide to use another AntiVirus Scanner.
