have the same problems. Can't reinstal HM, because I'll lose many notes and settings in this case. Can I manually make a copy of files, wich damaged by antivirus, before update.

Copy your config folder, the notes are in the database, they will not be affected.

Uninstall HM, install the full version 1.08.04 and then update to Beta 40.
After this is running, close HM and copy your saved config folder back.

After reinstall 1.08.04 it works, after update to Beta 40 it doesn't run.
And shows message like in first post.
I have Windows XP, SP3

After reinstall 1.08.04 it works, after update to Beta 40.....

Using the default config files or your previous config files? The problem may be in the \config folder you bhacked up.

I just realized you hijacked this thread, so I assumed you have done a revo reinstall, but now I see that is not the case.

Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

Make sure you export your tournament summaries: Tourney > Results > Dataview > All Hands > Right-Click > Export Tourney Results and Summaries.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

How do I export or import hands into and from Holdem Manager? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. You must also add exceptions to the Windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, choose the Select All > Delete buttons to remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and rename the current, working \config folder to \config_original. Now copy your \config folder from step 1 and paste it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ fodler, to replace the one you just renamed.
9) Test if it works again for a while
10) If your old config folder causes problems, you can paste the contents of the \config_original folder back in.
11) Now you can import any notes and hud configs.

hi.
As I said in my previous post, I have uninstall HM using REVO.
Re installed HM, + beta + postgresql 8.4, still the same problem.

Come on guys, the false virus comes from HM, and no help ?
It took several hours yersterday to put everything together again, and doing all was said on this forum with HM, and it still does not work...

I'm not playing during those hours...

Can someone please look up the problem again ?
Avira found some new problems, I had them deleted.
Could the problem come from a usefull dll or else that I would have deleted ?

Thanks for your quick reply.

Was having same issue. Avira reports Trojan, update to Beta40, unhandled exception HEM won't start. Reinstalled as per Fozzy's instructions (and deleted C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Xenocode\ folder) and seems to be working again.
Using Vista Home Premium 32-bit

ok I have the same problem like everyone in this thread..I uninstalled HEM with REVO then re-installed HEM, copy paste my original config file, started the HEM (without the update) played a couple minute at pokerstars, HUD showed up after couple hands...then closed HEM to install the update...HUD didn't launch after the update installation anymore... so the problems lies in the update version? Or am i doing something wrong?

PLS reply

If you are still having troubles then email support@holdemmanager.net with your teamviewer info and I will login and look at these. Please just confirm that

1) you have 1.09 beta 40 before emailing because a lot of the ones I looked at today were fixed by simply grabbing that version.
2) if you use Kaspersky then disable the heuristic scanning

I'll be available most of the night - so for the next 5 hours or so
