127.0.0.1 error

I opened up this software before I played today only to get the 127.0.0.1 error. I have done everything listed in the FAQ's these threads

and
1. Go to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data and look for a file called
"postmaster.pid". If you see it, delete it. (Do NOT delete any other file)
2. Start the PostgreSQL service by going to Control Panel ->
Administrative Tools -> Services.

When I go into that folder there is nothing in it (hidden folders are viewable) So im stuck here not knowing what to do..Hopefully someone can help?? Thanks

What is in that folder? What operating system? 64 bit vista? Do you have a C:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL\8.x\data folder?

Is your postgresql database installed to a different partition or drive? Have you tried searching your computer for 'postmaster'?
