hi i have a problem i wanted to instal holdem manager on my laptop (second computer) but when is installed PostgresSQL it gives an error:

"The specified data directory is not empty.

If you have an existing database with the same major version number,
you do not need to initialize a database cluster.
If you have an existing database with a different major version you need
to backup your old database and create a new one"

first i had holdem manager on my laptop but then holdem manager gave me an error so i deleted everything included PostgresSQl now i want to instal it again but it gives me that error,

hopefully somebody can help me,

kind regards

Thats not an error its a message. The installation found an existing postgresql data folder. You can delete it and loose all your data or you try to use it again.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

What operating system? Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.

First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service
