Hi
The tutorial on the HM web site for setting up postgreSQL says to change the database endcoding format to SQL_ASCII but the setup guide on the FAQ ID #176 says to leave it as WIN1252.
Which is correct......or doesn't it make any difference?

By the way.....I will be restoring a database from a different laptop which I think has a SQL_ASCII databse. Do have to make sure the new database is also SQL_ASCII or can it be WIN1252 ?

Technically they are both incorrect.
For a new DB we recommend you update to the newest HM and create a new UTF DB.

When doing the restore process choose ascii encoding when creating the new DB to restore to.
