View Full Version : nothing working with windows 7

I just updated my comp to windows 7 and now whenever i open holdem manager it says unhandled error or something along those lines. I tried uninstalling hm postgres updating postgress getting the new beta for hm and nothing worked. I think its postgress because whnever i open the admin and try to conect to a server it says failed.

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

For uninstalling SQL please follow these steps:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) manually delete or rename the Program Files\Postgresql folders
3) run the command - start > run > cmd >

net user postgres /delete
4) reboot.
5) Install PostgreSQL 8.4, with your firewall uninstalled or turned off if windows firewall - http://www.enterprisedb.com/products/pgdownload.do#windows

There are no problems with Win7, I've being using since RC1 came out with no real problems. You have to run HEM as administrator every time.

did all this and still got nothing. reinstalled hm now it just goes to the database control panel and when i try to connect it says hm cant open a connection.

At first you need to make sure that your postgresql service is running.

portsql definatly isnt working i tried everything turning off everything adding exception reinstalling everything sacrificing kittens AND restarting my computer. im lost
