Hi

Suddenly HM1 cant read data from postgraSQL DB. I enden up reinstalling HM1 an DB, and the issue still seems to be the same (attachment)
I have been through the list in FAQ (HM1), but I also had trouble reinstalling (startted 24hrs ago), and now I cant move windows back to a update/point where I had HM1 working propperly(28/01/12), the oldest setback point is 13.08 pm 29/01/12.

Right before this happend I did a scan with malewarebytes wich I also updated(uninstalled now).
Im a bit lazy(an a computer nob) so I would prefer the easy way and get back to a point where everything worked fine(didnt thought about this solution when the error started, cos I have never used this option before on any pc). But its not the end of the world if I have to settle with the new empty Db and no HM notes.

Any suggestions would be really nice!!

Thanks in advance

Anthon

This problem is usually caused by a firewall blocking the connection http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/339/Software+Security+Problems+%28Firewall%29

Im pritty sure windows firewall and defender are uninstalled. None of them work, and they dosnt show up on the uninstall/configur list.

And I have no other firewall or antivirus installed(removed maleware bytes when HM1 and DB didnt work)

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely
Try 8.2 http://ftp.postgresql.org/pub/binary/v8.2.22/win32/postgresql-8.2.22-1.zip

Read: http://holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8182
and check if maleware hasn't corrupted your hosts file

Its working agian!!

I installed a new antivirus and made a scan, and removed it agian. nothing happend

Then after reading your post I looked for postmaster pid file agian(have removed it before, but prob not from this reinstall), and now it works.

So I think it was a maleware issue, cos my lab was running abit slow.

Usually only use this labtop for poker, but did a few exceptions lately. But prop payed the bill for it now.

Anyways thanks for the help!!
