Everything was fine till today.
When I try to run HM2 I got this message:
http://www.kephost.com/images4/2012/1/24/2qu8sz9vo073a2aaswvj.jpg (http://www.kephost.com/)
Then it does not accept my serial number

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager2 installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just a regular hidden file)

Also please try this:

1. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug
2. Open HM and register
3. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file

That will enable you to enter the correct serial key. (currently the wrong key is 'stuck' in your license file)

please send your updated Reg.log file from the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'.

The problem is with HM2 not HM.

please send your updated Reg.log file from the C:\Users/../Appdata/Roaming/HoldemManager folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'.

1.Create a new text document in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager \Config folder by right clicking inside the folder on a blank space, choose New from the popup Menu and then choose text document and name it LicDebug with a capital L and D
2.Open HM2 and register
3.Close HM2 and delete the LicDebug.txt file if it fixes the issue or not

Hi, was this resolved? i have the same problem after restarting my machine for some Windows update. After that, try following the advise in this thread, but just cant get it to work. Re-installed HM2 a few times as well, nothing can be done. I'm also sending a copy of the Reg file over. Hope to see a reply soon.

I'm using W7, & Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.

I've already tried all the suggested fixes prior to posting in this thread. I also just tried updating to 6263, with same result.

Hello,

The solution for my promblem was the following:

- If your windows user name has any unique 'cyrillic characters' you may need to create a new windows user with a single EN-US name without any special characters.
- Uninstall HM2 (and HM1 if it is installed)
- Create a new windows user in the Control Panel > User Accounts. Make sure it is an Administrator account and has no unique characters in the name (only characters from EN Alphabet)
- Reboot the PC
- Log in to the new windows user account
- Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable “Hide protected operating system files”: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html) - It should look like this: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
- Now Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\ Holdem Manager 2.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\ Holdem Manager 2.lic)
- Reinstall HM2 - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_2_Setup.exe
- and try to register again.
- If that works, you can reboot, log in to your normal user, and test to make sure everything works before you delete the temporary user.

thanks for the reply Maxxxika, appreciate it. I've some problems trying this solution as i'm not allowed to create a new user (work pc).

anyway, i tried to install HM1 to see whether it works, and same problem occured, but this time, my Symantec Endpoint Protection quarantined the license activation as a bloodhound.sonar.9. I really suspect this is the same with my HM2, which had work fine before the latest Symantec update. I can't add exception to this (again, security policy due to this being a work pc), so i guess i just can't use HM on this PC.

Support, lemme know if there's anything that can be fixed, else i will stop using it on this pc, thats all. Tq.

Use a different PC.
Or -on the work PC- SET EXCEPTIONS (or uninstall Symantec Endpoint).

If you continue to have registration issues, please send your Reg.log file from the C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager \Logs folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'. Email this log file to hm2support@holdemmanager.com
