Hi There

i have searched but can't find an EXACT match to my question - although many similar.

wont waste too much of your time but have just bought a new laptop and want to move all of my database/hh to it from the old.

im not too bothered about configuration of the hud etc because it wont take me long to make my changes.

what i am bothered about is the database of the few thousand hands i have played.

do i simply need to follow the following (using an external drive to store temporarily)

Hi There

sorry for second question but i am doing this when i get home and dont want to screw up as i know how hard it can be to correct mistakes.

I am assuming that the correct order would be install Postgre.
Restore database
Install hem.

I also asume that i will not need to create a new database when installing HEM as it should find the restored database which i can then set as default.

Please let me know if i am on the right track here.
Cheers T

Just a few thousand hands? Not a few HUNDRED thousand?

If you have <100k or 200k hands, i would suggest you just install HM (and the latest beta) and Postgresql 8.4 clean on the new machine. Then export the hands from your DB on PC#1 and import them manually to PC#2.

I have 250k hands or so, and it takes less than an hour on my new computer, and only took 90 minutes on my old amd 4200 machine.
