"127.0.0.1" happened to me yesterday & I've looked around this forum for a solution
** I am on XP Pro version 2002 SP3
** I have HM small stakes edition & postgreSQL 8.3
** I was on Beta 32a when the problem happened
** I've gone to Beta 33 & problem not fixed
** I've disabled Windows Firewall
>>> Q1:
WHEN I'VE FIXED THIS (WITH YOUR HELP) HOW CAN I PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN ?
>>> Q2:
What other OS will run HM & run PokerStars ?
>>> Q3:
SHOULD I DO WHAT PCP POKER SAYS HERE?:
http://208.109.95.123/forum/showthread.php?t=8261
>>> Q4:
If your answer to Q3. is "YES" I don't understand PCP POKER STEP 1...
Here is the "Hosts" file - I haven't added anything. It's ok as it stands right? Therefore ignore STEP 1 ?
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
>>> Q5:
I have done PCP POKER STEP 2 & disabled Windows Firewall. I do not know if I have Windows Defender - How do I check? (I can't see it in add/remove programs nor is it under START > PROGRAMS)
I am dreading doing all these uninstalls & installs - I am still on 56kbps connection :(
Regards
Michael
