After installing Vista SP2 today I opened HEM and got this message:

I hit ok and then HEM closes and I get taken to the "Database Control Panel". In the past whenever I get here I just hit connect and it fixes things. Not this time, now when I hit connect I get this:

At which point I just close it all and have no clue what to do. Help plz.

Please reboot your computer.

If it stil doesn't work you need to configure exceptions in your firewall for Postgresql and Holdemmanager. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=164

Some other hints: you could try to start the postgresql service as local system account. I had some success over the last days with this.

And please check this: http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

Please come back if you need further help BEFORE trying any type of reinstallation.

haha wow, I feel stupiddddddddd

In doing this upgrade windows first installed some stuff, then rebooted and during the reboot installed some more stuff. Then thing seemed to work normally. At that point I tried HEM and it didn't work and I didn't think of rebooting since I'd just rebooted. But a few reboots later and it seems right as rain again. Thanks!
