ive been running HEM for a long time with no changes to my HUD.
I 16+ table and have never had a problem.
i am running the latest beta update.
today when i load up my tables, the hud is locking up pokerstars and my computer. it leaves me completely unable to play- the entire machine is unusable once the hud gets started. i am able to right click the task bar, and close HEM, and then the computer goes back to normal.
i know its the hud, because HEM runs fine w/ PS during an auto import if i first disable the auto hud launch.
i also tried running the hud on just two tables, and it behaves the same way- locks up everything

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.
Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171
Update your video card drivers
*Please make sure your Windows Auto Update is fully updated.
*Make sure you have Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.
Please reproduce the problem and post a screen shot - http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm
with the:
* Task Manager > Processes
1) The table manager
2) The tables (including one with no stats)
3) The "importing\hud data" folder
4) The ...handhistory\screenname folder.
Please make 3 and 4 the detailed view with the dates and file sizes etc.
To attach it to a thread in the forums, look below the post reply button when you start a new thread and you'll see a manage attachments button. Click this and attach the file.

i could not locate a manage attachments button, so i just posted screenshot to imageshack......
also, i forgot to add 'dates' column to the huddata folder, but the folder was empty when i opened it, and the filenames match the tables that i just opened, so those files were created during the brief session i just played at those tables..
i should also note that the problem was not nearly as dramatic now as it was yesterday. if you could let me know if everything looks ok with this screenshot, i will try to 24 table again and see if it works now, although i didn't really make any changes.

Please reboot your computer, delete all files in the Pokerstars handhistory folder and try again.

I have forwarded this thread to the developers for a reply as they are very interested in any possible hud crash bugs.

Can you download the attached file and replace the hmhud.exe file in the holdem manager folder?
If it doesn't work, please try disabling the pre-fetch option from the Hud options->site prefs->poker stars menu.

it seems to be working now. i'm not sure what couldve been causing the problem, as its worked perfected for months (years?), suddenly was crashing, then suddenly works again.
i did not replace the hmhud.exe file, as it seems to be working.
if i have problems again, i will come back to this thread.

I guess it was a corrupt file in the handhistory folder or a runaway process.
