View Full Version : HUD stops working after 5-10 hands

My HUD starts working fine but stops working after 5-10 hands on both of my laptops. The hands are being imported and I can see them in my cash/session screen if i refresh. This happens 100% of the time, please help.

Hello,

I have the same problem:

the hud stops working after 5-10 hands... but the hands are still importing...

i use the version 1.08.08
i have vista and the UAC is off...

I donīt know what to do... can you please help me?

Well my HUD stopped working after about five hands. I installed that beta link posted above and now I have this error every time I double click the desktop icon to open Holdem Manager:

0x8000FFFF

Catastrophic Failure - Please contact the publisher of this application for more information.

I have to say I am totally unimpressed for what I'm getting for my $145 so far this past two days. I now can't even open the software. At least everything else worked before but the HUD. Now nothing works. If I can't get this to work soon, I want my money back.

Can someone please tell me what to do to get this working? My appreciated.

Please reboot your computer,
clear your browser cache or use a different browser and download and install the latest beta again. I guess your download is corrupt.

Please make sure your windows system is uptodate (service packs, windows updates) and Microsoft .net framework 3.5 service pack 1 is installed.

...... I guess your download is corrupt.
.....

This usually happens because the update was not installed fully (i.e. processes still running in task manager) so your suggestion is correct. A 're-update' should cure it.

Ok, I did that. Now it started working only a couple of times.

Now most times I'm trying to open it from the desktop, I get this error:

The following error occurred when trying to open the database. Unable to read data from the transport connection. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

I click OK to that and it takes me to the Database Control Panel to set up my connection to PostgreSQL. It takes me to the box to create a new database, but when I plug in the name Holdem Manager for the database, it tells me it already exists but doesnt seem to let me use it.

I had Poker Tracker 3 on my computer before and deleted it because I wanted to use Holdem Manager. Could you please help me? I really am getting quite frustrated. Thank you.

This is typically a firewall issue blocking the communication of HM and PostgreSQL.

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm....aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

1) What version of Holdem Manager are you using?
1.08.04

2) What Poker Site are you playing on and which gametype and does the problem occur on more than 1 site?
full tilt, cash game. also poker stars and ultimate bet. the problem only exists on full tilt

2a) Have you clicked the Start Auto Import Button?
yes

3) Have you the settings exactly as per the FAQ for your site?
yes

4) Can you see the Hand History files showing up in the correct Folder on your PC, this folder should be indentical to the path location you set in Options > Configure Auto Import Folder in HM? If so please copy and paste the location as shown in the FAQ?

5) Are the hands being imported into Holdem Manager?
yes

5a) Do they import if you create a new database?
yes

6) Have You Tried the Table Finder and did it work?
no, didnīt try

7) If you open the HH are they written in English?
yes

8) If your using Vista have you UAC disabled?
yes

9) Have you attached the holdemmanager.config file?
yes

i am having the exact same problem as la Peca and have the exact same answers as he just gave, except that I do not use vista, please help!!! can i set up a remote assistance session?

Does your Holdemmanager really show 1.09 Beta 34 in the title of the main window?

The 5-10 hands problem is definitely fixed in the latest Betas.

Please make sure you choose the original installation path when installing the update.
