Hello,

After I install PostgreSQL 8.4.0-1 and the Holdem Manager 1.09 bea 29 I must create a new Database.
In the "Create Datbase" window i can choose for Encoding UTF or ASCII.

When i choose ASCII i become an error (the codification SQL ASCII is not compatible with the template Database codification UTF8) Error Number 22023

When i choose UTF it works.
What are the diffrent of UTF and ASCII, and is UTF ok?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.

UTF is recommended now with 8.4 and the recent HM versions.

UTF works at my PC. But is UTF better or faster than ASCII?
Or is ASCII better?

I am sorry, but I really don't know much about the inner workings of PostgreSQL. That question is probably best if asked on a forum that is all about PostgreSQL.
