View Full Version : Unusual error message. Halp!

I've been using Hold'em Manager for about 4 months now and have about 150k hands accumulated in my database. I absolutely love the product and have had literally zero complaints--until now. I just began getting the error message below today. The import still seems to function and I am able to use the HUD as I play, and it continues to update in real time which is awesome. But I don't want to just ignore this error and build up potential problems in my database later on. Basically the only functional loss I can notice is I am unable to refresh my current session and determine my real time profit/loss. That said, here is the error message:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

This is usually a firewall, UAC, or windows update issue.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.


First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

thoughts?
the system ID isnt there either when i try to register like it was on my laptop.

further, ive updated to the most recent beta version.
unsure if had anything to do with postgresql so i also stoped that and restarted it.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about Leak Buster, Table Scanner, etc. HM and HMHUD are what I provide support for.

All I can suggest is a thread in their forum, a clean reinstall, or an email to sales.
