HEM won't open, and then the following notice pops up:

The following error occurred while trying to open the database: unable to read data from the transport connection. an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

it then opens my postgreSQL. all the info remains as it was before, but when i click connect the same error comes up, along with a system IOIE exception too long to list that i can't copy/paste.

i haven't changed anything with my computer since yesterday (when it worked), user control, everything i can think of the same as it has been.

help!!!
thanks

I am willing to bet you had a windows auto update yesterday.

First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help at all we may want to schedule a remote support session to assist you.
