cant connect to postgresql #12345

hello,

i got that problem the guys talk about in this thread

on the last page morny postet an email adress which seems to be dead now and "fabio" is not answering.

so however im looking for a solution... not sure though if a teamviewer session is the right thing for me because my english is not that good and my windows is in german. is there any kind of a walkthrough or something?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.


First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

sorry that i waited like 3 days to answer you but ive already updated holdemmanager (1.09 beta 30b) and tried all the faqs. nothing worked :(

It does not need to be installed, as it can run directly from your Desktop/Directory. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

I dont see any unread emails, but occasionally I have been known to start reading an email, then get distracted, and forget to reply or have a computer crash (new comp gets here tomorrow)

however i just updated to 1.09 beta 40 - still doesnt work

Look for the hidden file postmaster.pid in the postgresql data folder. Delete it and reboot your computer.

If that doesn't help please come back with a detailled error description.
