Have you installed postgresql yet?

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.

Install PostgreSQL 8.4, with your firewall uninstalled or turned off if windows firewall - http://www.enterprisedb.com/products/pgdownload.dowindows

fwiw I am getting the same problem. Started with the transport connection error, updated to latest beta, beta failed to replace several files including holdemmgr.exe and now come up with an error with a large bug report thingy, still trying to load under beta 35. Let you know if I fix it.

Fixed mine. Downloaded update again and saved it as normal. Moved it to my desktop. Restarted computer. Ran update first thing. All works fine now.

You have done what? A 're-update'? What errors are you getting?

1) Clear your web cache, and download the beta update again, with another browser if possible.
2) Right-Click > Save Link As to save it to a different folder.
3) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
4) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder

Please try to explain your problems a little bit more specific. Do you get any error message during the Postgresql Installation? Which one?

The fisrt and most important problem is that for the THIRD time HM doesn't start and I've got the same ***** message every time (look at the first message I sent a few weeks ago).

The second problem is : when for the third time the problem above came back, I uninstall postgresql, and I tried to re-install it. But it didn't work. I got the following message " User 'postgres' could not be created. The user account already exists!"

So right now the situation is that postgreql isn't install, i can't re-install it, and HM is still not working ....

I think you will understand that i've got enought having the same problem all the time. I would love to have it fixed up once for all.:mad:

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Vista: Turn off UAC - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. Once you get those installed you can add exceptions to the firewall. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

For reinstalling SQL to a new/empty DB, please follow these steps:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) manually delete or rename the Program Files\Postgresql folders
3) run the command - start > run > cmd >

net user postgres /delete
4) reboot.
5) Install PostgreSQL 8.4, with your firewall uninstalled or turned off if windows firewall - http://www.enterprisedb.com/products/pgdownload.do#windows
