When reinstalling postgreSQL 8.3 I get the error message:

The 'Secondary Logon' service is not running. This service is required for the installer to initialize the database.
Please start this service and try again.

Please help.

The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. So you need to go to the windows services (in administration tools) and start this service.

I recommend you use Google if you need further details.

Thank you. I managed to start the service and reinstall PostgreSQL, however, I am still getting the error message 'cannot connect to 127.0.0.1' even after following the steps in this thread: http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

What else can I try?

Is the Postgresql Service running or not - you see it in the Windows services?

I ended up reinstalling PostgreSQL and exporting/importing all my hands. That seems to have solved the problem for now...
