Hi, I was just using holdem manager and it froze up while making a query, causing my whole computer to freeze. I restarted it and when I opened holdem manager I got the following message:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Could not load file or assembly 'Softelvdm.Controls, Version=1.0.0.16, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=25c3069afccab10e' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.

Then there are the buttons "details", "continue" and "quit".

When I click continue, holdem manager attempts to intialise the database as normal when you start up, but just continues like this indefinitely and nothing comes up. Under details is a very long bunch of text, I can copy and paste this if necessary.

Any help with this matter is appreciated

First try a simple reboot.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help at all we may want to schedule a remote support session to assist you.;
