Hi,

Stars made an update today that broke the hand history importer, we already have the fix uploaded in 1.12.09 so please update to the newest version to fix the issue

HM1:

If you are using HM1 please make sure you have the latest update from this link - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.10_31May2011.exe

*This latest HM1 patch contains the DLL file so you don't need to follow the rest of the instructions for manually replacing the DLL file.

HM2:

Please make sure you have the latest HM2 public build #6866:

Please update to the latest build via HM2 > Settings > Check For Updates

If you have any problems auto-updating, use this link - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_2_Beta.exe


If you previously rolled back your pokerstars using their \backup folder contents you will need to run pokerstarsupdate.exe to update the pokerstars client before testing this new .dll file.


PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE POKERSTARS AND HOLDEMMANAGER BEFORE YOU PROCEED:

Doesn't work for me. When I update me version many files are not able to replace . Few times during instalation I have a comunicate " bla bla cant replace file xxxx".

I have Holdem+Omaha , but when i add the serial , this appear This License Code is already uploaded.

And the serial is not show in my License Keys , i only have this

after installing the update, my HM doesn´t get started. A window pops up saying: "HM is making a large database update....." but it never goes on. I have been waiting for an hour, reboot my my computer a couple of times, etc... but it still not working...

well, i upgraded this new version, and hem says while autoimport, that it imports files. But in tourney-> results there r no data. Also HUD still doesn´t work.

After installing the latest updates on pokerstars and hm1, Pre-fetch one hand doesnt work.

The cofigurations on pokerstars and site preferens on hm1 are the same like before, without changes

Downloaded latest update and got a message to activate the software online. Clicked on that message and selected which machine profile to activate and get "Success. Select ok to continue." Clicked Ok and then it says that a valid license could not be obtained.

UPDATE: Checked My Account page and license key for Holdem Manager has been disabled

I've updated to the most recent version of HM1 and it's still not important hands for me.

I'm awful with computers and days like this are my most dreaded days as a poker player, lol.

This also affects .com after PokerStars.com update today. It already affected (.fr, .it, etc.) that had this PokerStars client software update last week.


HM1: Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

HM2: The 6023 build is only a temporary solution which solves the PokerStars import issue, but has other bugs which be fixed in the next public release. Turn off notecaddy if you use 6023.

When it's making the update ignore any "not responding" message. The program will unfreeze after the database update.

Prefetch not working (also a result of PokerStars changing the formatting of the handhistory files) will be fixed in the next update.

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)

Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just a regular hidden file)

Then activate it again with the correct serial key.

TY! Fixed, tourneys being displayed. But still, my HUD doesn´t load up, while sitting at the table. And yes, my HEM is running as 1.12.09.

The problem Im having is weird. Yes I have updated to the latest version.

I play HU SnGs and the results register fine. Except during autoimport I can only see the completed number of tournies, not the ongoing ones. And also the time does not register att all in the columns, it says 0.00 but I still se timesstamps in the handhistory. And the EV also does not register. When I browse the individual tournies I see a calculation but the result in the column still says 0.00 there too?

Ok I started a new database after a restart of the entire system and imported the hands there again, now the times and EV work.
BUT how do I get this new info into my old database? Can someone walk me through that step by step, is it even possible?

Please try the following: identify the missing handhistory and optional summary files, they are either located in the stars handhistory and tourney summary folder or in the Holdemmanager archive folder (subfolders organized by year\month\day).
Copy those files to a different folder and import them to your original database via import file/folder.

Done this and no change. The license key for Holdem Manager still says it is disabled on My Account page.

Edit - now fixed. tried using the license key for Omaha upgrade instead of the original HEM one and it worked

I have the same problem as Chifo. I updated HM and then I couldnt activate the license. I had HM Small Stakes and later I added the Omaha version. I tried reseting the Key on my account, by that button doesn't work for me. It does not reset my license. Could you please help me? Here I post the details:

I am still having a problem with getting the HUD up.

Stars is saving the hand histories, and I have reimported all files from the month (they all show up as duplicates).

Please advise me on the next course of action.

I am still having a problem with getting the HUD up.

Stars is saving the hand histories, and I have reimported all files from the month (they all show up as duplicates).

Please advise me on the next course of action.

Working after a reboot, looking forward to prefetch being fixed in the next update.

I have the same problem as Chifo. I updated HM and then I couldnt activate the license. I had HM Small Stakes and later I added the Omaha version..

Your old Small Stakes Holdem-only serial is 'stuck' in your license file.

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)

Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just a regular hidden file)

Also please try this:

1. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug
2. Open HM and register
3. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file


Then activate it with your Holdem + Omaha serial.

Ignore the 'not responding'. The program should unfreeze after the database update. Otherwise run dbcontrolpanel.exe from the HoldemManager folder, and create a new database: Options--> Database Management--> Connect--> Create New Database--> (set it as default)--> Start HoldemManager
(because if there was a corruption in the old database, the database update will never finish)

I dont see how creating a new database will help if the issue its that HEM its not recognizing Stars new HHS format and hence its not importing them...If i creat a new database that issue will remain the same cuz it would have changed nothing, the HS format will remain the same and HEM wont be able to import them

another problem after update: after the update I get HUD shifted on some tables: it displays HUD next to correct players on some tables, and it is moved around the table by one or few seats on the other tables. I can't move it to the right positions of course as if I try to move it on the tables where it is shifted, then it moves also where it was correct... It seems that it is hapenning when I am moved to new table - all new players and their stats are found, but displayed in wrong places. It also appears that ocassionaly when new table launched it will take very long time (up to 10-15 min) to launch HUD. I am not using fixed seating and this is all in tournaments.

1.12.09 has no problems importing handhistories after the changes in the formatting.

So either:
you're playing on play money tables, which HoldemManager can't import
something went wrong with the update, and you're still using an old version of HoldemManager
or there is some corruption in your database. So please try if they DO import into a new database.

Hud starts automatically when I import. Listen I had HEM set up fine before the PS update so I know how it SHOULD be running. It's not my comp cos I've got HEM on 2 comps and it's the same issue on both. Should I just post my config or what. Gotta go to work now so won't be able to reply till tomo. Cheers.

P.S I've had Vista running on a Dell inspiron 1500 for the past 5 years and have little to no trouble with it. Once you strip away all the gimmick RAM consuming rubbish that Microsoft put in there to make it look like Mac OSX it works fine, albeit almost identically to XP.

try running Holdem Manager again. If you continue to have registration issues, please send your updated Reg.log file from the C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Logs folder. If your Windows is hiding known file extensions the file will simply be called 'reg'.

And the Party lobby language is in English.

And HoldemManager displays 1.12.09 upon startup.

I have downloaded the update and Holdem is showing version 1.12.09. I rebooted and then immediately downloaded the update. When I play stts I can see files importing and hands importing. There is also a large number of duplicate hands. The HUD is working, however the results page in holdem is not updating. I am using HEM1 and windows 7. Please can you give very simple instruction as to how i can fix this. Thanks.

I have just played three sng 9 player tournaments at Stars. Whilst I was playing them I went into options:- instant hand histories and could see three files which related to the tournaments that I was playing. The files were getting larger the more hands that I played. When the sngs ended the files disapeared from the folder. I don't know whether this is normal but thought it may help with sorting out why my results page is not updating.

Played 2 days ago and everything worked fine
Today downloaded the new pokerstars version and hands don't import (auto or manually selected files) and no hud from old hands either
so updated to the latest HEM, restarted comp etc
W7, no antivirus, no UAC enabled. Havnt changed anything on my computer since it worked last time EXCEPT a new windows update this morning (i remember some time ago (over a year) that a windows update caused HEM to stop working for a lot of people. cant remember the fix that time but maybe you want to look into that)
look forward to a quick & prompt fix to this issue that alot of people have
another thing that seemed kinda odd was that I had to reregister HEM after the update and dig out the code etc. Normally dont have to do that.

@pondlife: the hands are archived by the auto-import 15 mins after the last access. You should find them in the default archive folder c:\hmarchive. On stars you have to import additional summaries for tourneys and SnGs:
For new tourneys:
Stars now supports the writing of summaries directly to your computer: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/441/Poker+Stars+Tournament+Summary+Setup

For older tourneys you have to request tournament summaries manually: Pokerstars > Requests > Tournament Histories...
and import the data from the mail: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/117/Import+Emailed+Hand+Histories+

Then import them manually to HM.

@danols: updating from an older HM version to 1.12.08/1.12.09 requires a reregister. Thats ok. Please check the configuration of your stars client and the HM auto-import folders as written before in this thread. They may have changed during the update.

I have gone to stars and the additional summaries are being downloaded along with the hand histories. I have looked in the archive and I can see both the hand histories and the summaries in there. I have gone to holdem and under auto configuration both the hand history and summary folders are there. I have tried importing manually from the archive and it imported 46 files. Imported 23 hands. It also had 1123 duplicated hands. My results page did not update.

Ok so I installed the new update to Holdem' Manager 1 Small Stakes, rebooted, and when I tried to start Holdem' Manager I get the "try this 15 day trial" message. I press cancel and get a message "there are issues with your licence". Then it says "Your Serial Number: bla-bla-bla-bla-bla.

I reboot once again and still get that same. I've tried to reset the licence key in my account and I got an email saying this was done. I still have the same problem. Heres my log from the Reg.log:

Thank you for your help. I have finally got it working. The only games that I play on stars are turbo 9 man sngs. Under the filter by tourney details I have always had it set at "normal" speed. Before the stars update even though I was playing turbo games the results page still updated. I may be wrong but I'm not sure it actually updated if it was set to turbo. However now the speed must be set to turbo to get the turbo games to update. Thanks once again.

Yeah, creating new db did the trick but maybe somehow I can fix this with my old db ? It kinda sucks to create new db and wait for hours for importing hands everytime something goes wrong :/

If that doesn't help you should create a new database and reimport all your hands (+notes +summaries).

Play a couple of hands. (not not running the auto import) (so, with STOP HUD)
Run a import from file on the handhistory file:
if it imports (no error) the database should be fine
it it imports as error-->
check if the date formatting of the handhistory file is OK, and in English.
set the date formatting of your computer to M/d/yyyy (and not to European default d/M/yyyy) with regional settings English (United States)

If the handhistories are FINE, but still result in errors, try importing them into a NEW database.

Also if you import a hand, and the hand shows up twice in your reports (duplicate hands)--> it's a corrupt database--> and you should reimport your hands into a new database.

hi,

i have noticed that prefetching on ps is not working after another update from ps two days ago.

at the same time, i have reinsalled my desktop operation system. so i would like to make sure it's not my own setting problem but ps's update update that broke this functionality. prefetching does help a little bit in table selection so when will the patch for hm1 be released to fix this.

this link didn't work for me.

i tried another download from fozzy71 on 2+2. i got a file downloaded named as holdem_manager_update1.12.09a.

i assume this file is version with prefetch fix patched. after the update, hm still shows me 1.12.09 and the prefetching does not work still. so did i setup prefetching wrong here or the prefecthing does not work for now?

Serial: enter HM serial that was once emailed to you

As somebody who has zero interest in 'upgrading' to HEM2 in its current state, each time you all allude to upgrading to HEM2 to get access to timely updates you send me a whole lot closer to swapping over to poker tracker especially given that if I buy PT3 now I can get a free upgrade to PT4 on its release.

1. The build (with prefetch fixed) was released a day after the official 1.12.09 update, as an internal build.
HoldemManager's policy is to release it, along with some other updates in the next official public build (1.12.10)... but that can take 5-14 days.

So I leaked the internal build which is exactly the same as 1.12.09 but with prefetch fixed.
Uploaded it to Megaupload which unfortunately was taken down by the FBI (and ironically I only used to upload legal files)

2. HM1: HoldemManager had already updated anticipating the handhistory change formatting. 1.12.09 was already available a week BEFORE PokerStars.com updated. (because PokerStars.be, .it, .dk, .ee, etc had that update a week before .com)
HM2: This issue was fixed the same day with a new public build.

PokerStars' rake change, is a different issue. The issue here is not just to add the new rake method, but users also want to be able to COMPARE if they're now making less VPP. So it has to be added as a separate stat. This will be included in the next build. (similarly an internal HM2 release already exists, but it won't be released til the next stable public build which has dozens of other fixes.

no they are not, it's like the table manager see's the table, but it's written 0/6 player and nothing importing??

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and V ista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates./

Hi there,

I've just started to use HEM again after a long break and am trying to use it for sng results. I've updated it to the latest patch but it's not showing my results from this year. It has last years in there but nothing for 2012. The histories are being set to import from the right folders, I can't work out what's wrong.

Is this similar to the other issues in this thread? Apologies if it's a known problem, that's why I posted it here :)

If that doesn't resolve it, reimport your hands into a new database.

Hi,

Following the update Stars made the other day, I thought I'd solved the problem by installing the update provided in this thread. http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/184881-problem-pokerstars-import.html

Think they may have tweaked things again though as their servers went down again today for a bit, and following that the HUD is once again not displaying/hands not importing etc. Is there a further fix needed?

Yeah, it was definitely 1.12.09 I was using. Sorted it though - just re-installed the update and it's back to working again so no problem :)

Hey Ive got HEM1
In zoom poker i am having troubles with my hud lagging, it briefly worked yesterday but when i started a new session it didnt work again. I was following the 2+2 support thread and following the instructions there but couldnt get it working.
when i am playing zoom it imports the hands and then at the same time on the auto-import it comes up with that it is also
importing a ton of duplicate hands(maybe this is why its lagging?)
any suggestions please ?

Yes, I of course marked the necessary field in the client, even though the folder (C:/users/xy/AppData/Local/Pokerstars/HandHistory) is empty. At the tables I only have history of few players, as you can see on the screenshot I attached.

Since you play Zoom, is it possible you simply don't have any hands on those players in your database?
As you play more hands (50+ hands) you'll gradually have HUD stats on more and more players?


hud options--> additional HUD filters--> turn on include hands from other limits, and turn on mix rush and non rush.

Players Window Filters - No ZOOM filter

I'd like to know if you are going to add a ZOOM filter to the Players Window? So far, only the obsolete Rush filters are present. Since players tend to play differently in ZOOM compared to their usual 6Max/FR style, such a filter would be extremely helpful.

Hi,
I have HM in two computers, one of them not being used for a long time. Now I want to use the old computer again and, in order to have my HM database updated, I imported manually the newest hands from the new computer to the old one (right click on the list of hands to be imported-export all hands to hard drive, and then took them to the old computer-import from folder).
The problem is that all the hands after the 9 january 2012 Stars update are not imported, HM doesn't recognize them, even after I updated the HM I have installed in the old computer to the latest version (1.12.09). What can I do? Thanks for your attention

Just to double check that I'm understanding you correctly do you mean HM1 doesn't work with pokerstars play money hands or do you just mean that HM1 support doesn't offer help with play money hand histories? Clarifying since carbon poker and cake poker work with play money and HEM.

I have attempted to d/l this fix, (i also d/l a previous beta fix in this thread http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/247221-hm1-zoom-pokersstars-25-26-may-update-2.html )
What i did was update and then added the dll file, it worked fine for 1 session but then it started to delay again in zoom. So i found this fix and presumed this was the latest update which i have d/l and i got this message when updating:

Guys, in the future if a patch is going to perform database changes can you let us know in big bold text with the patch? Once again, like with the bigpot changes earlier this year, the changes never complete and I have to do a dodgy hack to get it to run.

For those with a massive database (I don't know what that definition is - but I've got around 14M hands, I'm a packrat... ) you might want to do the following;

Instructions for HM1 ONLY (haven't tried with HM2)

0. BACKUP YOUR EXISTING DATABASE

1. Create a new empty database from pgAdmin (template = your existing DB) or from HM db management
2. Make this new database your default DB in HM
3. Turn on db command trace by editing your HoldemManager.config and changing this tag to True;


True

4. Run the patch, and open HM.
5. When the popup asks you to turn off database logging, keep saying "No" until the database update starts.
6. If you've set the default database to your dummy empty one, the database update will be very fast and HM lobby will load. Open and view the \HoldemManager\logs\dbtrace.log file, and you can view the ALTER table commands used on your dummy DB. There's a bunch of SELECT queries, which may be input to the type of ALTER table commands used in the update, so my list of commands may be different to yours, but I doubt it.
7. Open up pgAdmin, connect to your real database, not the dummy one. Open a SQL worksheet (the icon of the SQL page with a pencil). Paste in the ALTER table commands and execute (F5).
8. Once completed, open up HM as normal and change your normal DB back to the default. Mine took around 40m to complete in pgAdmin.
9. Drop the dummy DB you created from pgAdmin.

It would be great if HM could release the DDL for each major DB change, or at least have it available on request by PM'ing one of the developers. I understand if you would be reluctant to start telling people to run DDL on their databases in pgAdmin, but for me there was no other way, especially with the bigpot changes earlier this year which took over 5 hours to run on mine.

If anyone doesn't want to go through the above, and trusts that the DB changes are the same for everyone's install, then I can send them the ALTER TABLE commands for this update if they want.
