My computer received a windows system32 configuration error that required me to do a repair through my windows xp cd. Afterwards a bunch of drivers were missing and stuff.

Went through and got everything dialed in. I can not connect to my PostgreSQL however. It prompts me to start the service but fails. Why is it not able to connect to the database and how can I resolve this? I'm using v 1.09 beta 26 if that matters.

First try a simple reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help at all we may want to schedule a remote support session to assist you.

I got tried some of these steps including 1) FAQ. The 2) FAQ is overwhelming and I'm fairly certain I'll royally screw that up. Can you help me remotely, I'm willing to pay you extra to do this.

Fair warning, I have 3 or 4 scheduled for this afternoon/evening already, so I likely will not have time until tomorrow afternoon.
