Heya,

I took a month absence from poker and so didn't use HEM and now I wanted to grind and it didn't work anymore. I saw a topic here about the same problem and did about everything that was in there. I checked the UAC and it's turned off, I re-installed HEM, Postgres, MS Frameworks and all with my firewall being off.

When it was all re-installed, it all worked at first and I got it fired up but after I just rebooted, I got the same exact error I got before re-installation. It's in Dutch but I'll try to translate it the best I can.

An error occured on startup: Unauthorized access to memorylocation.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703E6)

It was the exact same after I updated it before re-installation. Before I updated it didn't start up either, neither did it give an error, it just didn't respond to clicking the shortcut nor trying to fire up the original .exe

Please help me because I really want to get back to poker and need my HUD badly !!!

Not sure if it's of any help but I can't individually open my Postgres database either. It says the server doesn't listen and gives me this huge error:

''The server doesn't accept connections: the connection library reports
could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
If you encounter this message, please check if the server you're trying to contact is actually running PostgreSQL on the given port. Test if you have network connectivity from your client to the server host using ping or equivalent tools. Is your network / VPN / SSH tunnel / firewall configured correctly?
For security reasons, PostgreSQL does not listen on all available IP addresses on the server machine initially. In order to access the server over the network, you need to enable listening on the address first.
For PostgreSQL servers starting with version 8.0, this is controlled using the "listen_addresses" parameter in the postgresql.conf file. Here, you can enter a list of IP addresses the server should listen on, or simply use '*' to listen on all available IP addresses. For earlier servers (Version 7.3 or 7.4), you'll need to set the "tcpip_socket" parameter to 'true'.
You can use the postgresql.conf editor that is built into pgAdmin III to edit the postgresql.conf configuration file. After changing this file, you need to restart the server process to make the setting effective.
If you double-checked your configuration but still get this error message, it's still unlikely that you encounter a fatal PostgreSQL misbehaviour. You probably have some low level network connectivity problems (e.g. firewall configuration). Please check this thoroughly before reporting a bug to the PostgreSQL community.''

Sorry for this huge post but I thought it may be off help and I guess you can use all the info you can get.

You can try to uninstall HM using the Revo uninstaller and reinstalling full version 1.08.04 and then updating to the latest Beta.

If that doesnt help i think its time to reinstall your whole windows system because the error messages (especially the first one) seem to be something deeper than just a HM problem.

Ugh, was already fearing this meant I had to re-install my entire copy of Windows... About time I guess but still not what I liked to hear but thanks for the advice at least. I'll try that tomorrow or so and hope it works then.

Ok, so I didn't re-install Windows yet but I was fumbling about with other things that changed since I last knew HEM was working. Now I was wondering if support here knows if HEM often conflicts with firewall software. I was using COMODO Firewall and it worked before I got it on, installed it, HEM stopped working, uninstalled and HEM is working once again.

I was wondering if this happens a lot and maybe anyone here know a nice free firewall that won't conflict with HEM? :D I know it's isn't completely the right place for this question but maybe somebody has experience with this and can give me a quick answer.

Nearly 50% of the problems in this forum are caused by firewall software.
I personally think a software firewall is causing more problems and security holes than it closes. I would suggest to use a good router with builtin firewall.
