I am currently getting a Delayed Write Failed error referencing "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\data\base\16403\41184" upon logging into windows as well as anytime I attempt to start the PostgreSQL database service.

Please help.

I have uninstalled both my firewall and my virus protection and reinstalled postgresSQL version 8.2. I continue to get the same error when I attempt to start the service.

I also followed to instructions in the sticky titled "Still Can't Connect to PosgreSQL? Try This!".

I experienced the same error at the end.

Have you tried installing 8.3 or 8.4? I actually have a similar problem with my firewire external drive, and it seems these delayed write errors are usually associated with USB/Firewire devices.

I just installed 8.4 and it appears to have solved the problem.
