I have to spend a week at my brother's house watching my nephew. I'm going to install HEM at his house so I can play and I'm wondering what the best way is to transfer all my hands and stats onto his computer.

Thanks.

The fastest way to install HM, your HUDs, and your exact DB:

First you should backup everything important in your HM. Some of this is unnecessary/overkill for your particular situation, but I would rather give too much info than not enough.

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

How do I export or import hands into and from Holdem Manager? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.

Now, if you have an external HD, I would suggest you backup your entire \postgresql\8.3\data folder to the external, as well as do a backup thru pgadmin - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12

If you installed postgresql from the link in our FAQs, download it again. Now you can follow this FAQ, and install postgresql on the new pc and use a copy of your existing \data folder. If anything goes wrong, you can try the .backup thru pgadmin. If that fails you can import the text files.

After you are done playing there, you can filter for all the new hands, go to the hands tab, select [x] All hands, and then Right-Click > Expoort All Hands to Hard Drive.
