Does Hold 'Em Manager work with VMFusion, running windows on a mac while in linux mode? I know Poker Stars does, but am I unsure if HEM would..? Would it still be able to display stats by players names etc.

Yes it works, under parallels too.
I personally run it in a virtual box under Linux

Any chance you would be so kind as to go through how I can set that up, or direct me where I can be informed? I'm kind of new to Macs... Thanks! (the way you do it, as it sounds more convenient)

I just installed Virtual box in my ubuntu. Gonna install Win XP, postgre, HM, poker client in Virtual box. But I wonder... Do I need to install firewall, antivirus,.. too in the virtual XP?

Never mind. Found my answer:

treat you virtual windows install exactly as you would a physical installation.

My advice is to run antivirus and something for spyware.

+1 to all that. A virtual XP install can still get infected

If you only use the VM for poker then its not necessary....
